How you'll contribute

A Cath Lab Technologist who excels in this role:

  • Performs variety of technical supportive patient care tasks before, during, and after cardiac catheterization and special procedures.
  • Primarily responsible for the care of patients undergoing diagnostic cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting with all procedures providing patient education, assessment and monitoring, and participating in performance improvement activities.
  • Monitors hemodynamics, electrocardiograms, and waveform analysis.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance and practices infection control policies.
  • Assured that appropriate orders are obtained and followed during the performance of all procedures.
  • Assist cardiologists in invasive procedures including cardiac catheterization, coronary interventions, diagnostic peripheral cases, and peripheral angioplasty.
  • Assist physician in ICD insertions, insertion of temporary pacemakers, Swans-Ganz insertions, intra-aortic ballons, and implanting of permanent pacemakers.
  • Accepts assignment of call rotation.
  • Review patient history and physician's orders.
  • Verifies patient's identification before performing any procedure.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies.
  • Implement safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

What we're looking for Preference given to applicants who are a graduate of a Radiology Technology program. Additional requirements include:

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) requires.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association (AHA) required within 90 days of hire
