Preschool Lead Teacher - Early Childhood Education
Location: The Learning Experience - Canton, MI
Pay: $17-$20 per hour (based on experience and credentials)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
Lead a Classroom Where Preschoolers Love to Learn
The Learning Experience - Canton is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Lead Teacher to lead a classroom of young learners as they build the confidence, independence, and early academic skills they need for kindergarten and beyond.
We're looking for an educator who is comfortable taking ownership of a classroom, creating engaging learning experiences, and working collaboratively with Assistant Teachers and center leadership.
What You'll Do
  • Lead daily preschool classroom routines and learning experiences
  • Implement The Learning Experience's proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum
  • Create hands-on activities that support early literacy, math, science, creativity, and social-emotional development
  • Encourage independence, problem-solving, communication, and positive peer relationships
  • Maintain a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
  • Guide and support Assistant Teachers within the classroom
  • Observe children's development and communicate regularly with families
  • Maintain required classroom records and documentation
  • Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience in a preschool, daycare, or licensed childcare setting required
  • Lead Teacher or classroom leadership experience preferred
  • CDA, Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Early Childhood Education coursework strongly preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements for the position
