What You'll Do
As a Head Start Teacher, you will:
  • Lead a joyful, inclusive classroom that promotes school readiness, literacy, language, and social-emotional development.
  • Implement a child-centered curriculum that reflects the needs, interests, and cultural backgrounds of the children you serve.
  • Foster family partnerships by conducting home visits, hosting parent-teacher conferences, and involving families in their child's learning journey.
  • Support diverse learners, including children with disabilities, by integrating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) into daily instruction.
  • Document and assess progress using observations, anecdotal notes, and digital tools like CreativeCurriculum.net to individualize instruction.
  • Ensure child safety and well-being, from conducting daily health checks to modeling positive behaviors during meals and play.
