The Importance of the Role
The Director, Commercial Learning and Development will lead the development of the commercial field training function, including development of a Commercial Training strategy. The Director will also create and deliver scientific, product, and disease-state educational resources across the organization, to enhance the scientific knowledge throughout Sarepta. Familiarity with the promotional review process for training materials and the ability to communicate and train on complex medical topics will be important. This position will report to the Vice President., Opinion Leader Programming, Assay Strategy, Commercial Training & Development, Diagnostics & Bioinformatics
The Opportunity to Make a Difference
  • Build out a long-term strategic vision for long term learning and functional training at Sarepta
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify critical business needs and implement solutions across the organization
  • Implement a communication strategy to inform key stakeholders across the organization of educational resources and training support provided by the training department
  • Develop and execute innovative, efficient and effective ways of delivering training
  • Develop training strategies to enhance virtual customer and HCP engagement
  • Oversee planning and execution of national and regional training meetings in collaboration with cross-functional leads and senior leadership
  • Establish and implement key metrics to track and communicate level of value and impact of training and development initiatives
  • Ensure training materials and communications are prepared pursuant to the promotional review process SOP
  • Proficiency in submitting materials through MLR software systems
  • Familiarity with and experience implementing consultative selling models

More about You
  • 10+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech company preferred
  • 3-5 plus years as a commercial trainer at a pharmaceutical/biotech company
  • Developed and facilitated comprehensive training programs for rare disease commercial teams, enhancing competence in complex, rapidly evolving therapeutic fields
  • Bachelors is required.
  • Advanced degree preferred; PhD, PharmD, MS. In the absence of an advanced degree, a demonstrated ability to assimilate, comprehend, and communicate complex concepts as they relate to gene therapy and RNA technology is mandatory
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to navigate complex organization and foster alignment between stakeholders
  • Superior organizational skills including strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve, analytical abilities and multi-task
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Works with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of the organization
  • Solid management skills with ability to provide clear guidance, direction and feedback

The targeted salary range for this position is $185,600 - $232,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta's compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
