Job description

Duties As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), GS-1702-6/7, you will function as the primary assistant to the senior training technician/NCO within the operations and training area. Under the direction of the training officer, this position assists in the accomplishment of work performed in the areas of operations and training. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: * Assist in forecasting, allocating, and monitoring the usage of training ammunition for the command. * Make recommendations for the reallocation and/or re-forecasting of ammunition to support training events. * Review, validate, monitor and make recommendations concerning the forecasting of individual training requirements for subordinates elements. * Identify training opportunities and coordinates with higher headquarters to obtain school training quotas (Service, NCO, Special, etc.) to meet the requirements of the command. * Responsible for coordinating through higher headquarters the request for special internal training course establishment and their availability for application through the training reservation automation system. * Ensure ammunition requests submitted by subordinate units are supported by the training plans, regulations, and directives. * Verify accounting classification data and coordinates with other organizations and higher headquarters to support unfunded events. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. * Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. * Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence: * The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. * The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. * The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. * The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. * The FIFTH area of consideration will be U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Enlisted only - NTE E9 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : GS-07 Level - MUST possess the knowledge, experience, or training, which includes at least 1 year at the lower-level GS-06, to include knowledge of Army education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. GS-06 Level - MUST possess the knowledge, experience, or training, which includes at least 1 year at the lower-level GS-06, to include knowledge of Army education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words.
