  • W2 Contract-to-Hire, 12 Months
  • This is a hybrid Schedule at Baltimore, MD (Resource must reside in DMV and is required to report to Canton or Merriweather at least once per month)

Overview

  • Work with a leading organization in the healthcare industry as a Learning and Development Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating comprehensive corporate training programs that prepare associates to deliver exceptional service or accurately process critical healthcare claims. Operating in a fast-paced environment where agility is key, you will deliver dynamic training modules both virtually and in person. You will join a highly collaborative team complete with dedicated instructional designers and lead trainers, allowing you to focus your expertise directly on instructor-led delivery, adult learning methodologies, and student evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate comprehensive, vigorous onboarding and upskilling training courses ranging from 4 to 10 weeks in duration for cohorts of 15 to 30 adult learners.
  • Deliver interactive instruction primarily through virtual collaboration tools (80% virtual delivery) while maintaining the flexibility to lead in-person sessions (20% classroom delivery) as required.
  • Execute pre-established course curricula, exercises, and assessments, contributing minor design enhancements or localized activities to maximize learner comprehension.
  • Partner closely with L&D Supervisors, Lead Trainers, and Instructional Designers to break down complex healthcare systems and workflows into digestible, modular training segments.
  • Guide new corporate associates through intensive system navigation, soft skills application, operational workflows, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Co-train alongside seasoned learning professionals during initial onboarding phases to master internal platforms before transitioning to independent classroom ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of dedicated corporate training or adult learning and development experience paired with a Bachelor s degree, OR a minimum of 6 total years of relevant corporate/professional experience in the absence of a degree.
  • Proven experience conducting live, instructor-led training within a corporate environment for both virtual settings and traditional face-to-face classrooms.
  • Strong proficiency and advanced hands-on familiarity navigating and utilizing the Microsoft Office application suite to manage and deliver training.
  • Demonstrated experience managing mid-to-large sized classroom environments (cohorts ranging from 15 to 30 adults) over multi-week training schedules.
  • High degree of professional flexibility and adaptability to thrive in an environment where technical workflows and system updates change frequently.
  • Strong oral presentation, articulation, and behavioral management skills tailored specifically to adult learners.
  • Prior professional experience working within the health insurance or healthcare payer industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong foundational knowledge of medical billing and coding, including direct exposure to diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and claims analysis workflows.
  • Hands-on experience or familiarity with the Facets core administrative processing system.
  • Direct experience utilizing or training users on corporate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications such as Salesforce.
  • Prior experience delivering training at a high school educational level for candidates transitioning into corporate L&D.
