Job description

We are currently seeking a Career Development Program Manager for our Employment Services team in our New Haven & Waterbury BRS (Bureau of Rehabilitation Services) Programs!

Salary - $62,500 / year

Location - New Haven & Waterbury

Schedule - M-F 9A-5P Flex

The Career Development Program Manager is responsible for overall provision of services and supports for assigned participants and supervises above reporting positions in assigned area. The CDPM is also responsible for the development of positive and constructive working relationships with funding sources and works closely with Ability Beyond's Management team and all other departments and vendor groups. They assist with program goal setting, data tracking, and managing the overall success of the employment services in their region.

Will cover the New Haven & Waterbury area. Must have access to car.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the assigned Career Development Department. Works with the Employment Specialists to develop an effective team that supports the needs of Ability Beyond and the individuals served it serves. Trains and supports assigned staff in all areas of required paperwork necessary to perform all functions of the job. Facilitates in-service trainings and staff meetings as directed.
  • Collects, monitors, and/or completes documentation of required paperwork in response to our required state-funded and local business contracts in a timely manner. Also responsible for completion of required billing and collection for all necessary funding sources.
  • Develops positive working relationships with third party payers, regulatory agencies and others in order to identify and resolve problems expediently. Ensures continued referrals to make Ability Beyond the provider of choice for the region. Actively participates in provider meetings and networks with external colleagues to identify potential partnership and learning
  • Monitors and provides input into employment plans written by the assigned staff for each program participant indicating short-term, long-term, personal goals and progress made. Ensures compliance with agency mission, relevant reporting requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Accepts referrals for individuals served eligible for work site or individual placements. Establishes appropriate caseload goals. Assists individual staff and group with goals to ensure budgetary expectations are being realized. Proactively plans for and recommends staffing needs.
  • Designs, implements and evaluates quality assurance indicators and tools that continually evaluate the delivery of Career Development services.
  • Proactively responds to the case management needs of the Career Development Department. Represents Ability Beyond to individuals served, their families and other professionals, community/government agencies and related organizations to effectively deal with situations as they arise.
  • Assists Assistant Services Director/Services Manager in pursuing new funding streams, completing Request for Proposals/Grants, and with evolving the department to meet changing needs or growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field is required or may substitute no less than eight (8) years of experience.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of related experience as an Employment Specialist or a background in business. Two (2) years experience in the health services field is also required.
  • A current, valid driver's license, as well as daily use of a registered and insured vehicle is required
  • BRS Experience Preferred (Bureau of Rehabilitation Services)
