Job description

SUMMARY
The Utility Development Program Manager - On-Site Generation is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing QTS bridging power infrastructure projects, including data center on-site generation and utility bridging power initiatives. This role ensures the safe, timely, and compliant delivery of electric power capacity at each campus by overseeing project schedules, budgets, and stakeholder alignment. This role will interface and collaborate with many critical stakeholders, including but not limited to energy leaders responsible for utility contracts and negotiations, operations leaders managing load growth projections, and development team project leaders planning and building new data centers.
RESPONSIBILITIES, other duties may be assigned
• Provide strategic Leadership and coordination with partners, consultants, and contractors to drive the successful execution of on-site generation and bridging power construction activities
• Direct and manage the construction of multiple on-site generation and bridging power projects
• Management of partners and consultants related to electrical substation design and construction
• Lead in standardization of utility substation design, including distribution feeds to multiple buildings
• Manage budgets and cost forecasting of utility projects, including construction and equipment
• Develop transformer and equipment specifications
• Procure substation long lead equipment and transformers
• Procure and manage construction of multiple substation sites simultaneously
• Track and report on status and schedule of power delivery timelines
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Five or more years of on-site generation or meduim voltage construction management
• Five or more years or more years of experience running multiple projects at the same time or related professional experience
• Knowledge of substation industry partners and transformer manufacturers
• Bachelors degree in Electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Be able to travel up to 50% of the time or as needed to support projects
• Demonstrated experience working directly with executives and collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Ten plus years of on-site generation design or construction
• Experience as licensed electrician engineer with focus on MV / HV work
• Technical expertise in High and Medium Voltage Electrical Design
• Experience managing large portfolio of work

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to independently manage deadlines and support staff
• Ability to influence cross-discipline teams
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations at a high growth company
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and deliver high quality work in tight timeframes
