Raytheon is seeking a Development Program Manager (PM) to lead a hardware development program within the Tomahawk portfolio. Reporting to the Tomahawk Development Associate Director, the PM will manage the cost, schedule and technical execution of a complex development effort targeted at qualifying and fielding an upgraded Tomahawk capability.

The PM will lead the completion of the engineering development effort, qualification testing and flight testing which supports subsequent LRIP production.

This position requires proficiency in leading strong program IPT leads, cross functional teams, managing a high visibility program, driving communication of project goals/objectives/decisions and results to team, customers, and leadership.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be a key leader during an unprecedented resurgence in demand for one of the most recognizable franchise programs at Raytheon and one of the most successful combat proven weapon systems ever. An optimal candidate will have experience in team building, building customer relationships, program recovery and possess a startup mindset that brings the energy to drive change.

**This is an onsite position at our Tucson, AZ facility.

Will You Will Do: 

  • Accountability for profit and loss, AOP and financial metrics for the program
  • Leading a clear program execution methodology that provides clarity and visibility into execution status
  • Driving the expectation of maintaining a positive team dynamic and the development of leaders within the development team
  • Managing priority decisions that balance risk, execution deadlines and profitability
  • Collaborating with the recertification PM on missile level builds
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Tomahawk Development Team customer counterparts
  • Supporting proposal activities for follow-on work and establishing investment strategies 
  • Domestic travel required as needed

What You Will Learn:

  • Raytheon and RTX Business Acumen
  • SBU & SSBU organizational structure, responsibilities amongst the programs and the functional areas, and deliverables

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7years’ experience
  • Prior experience in leading profit and loss of DoD contracts as a program manager or recent functional leadership experience.
  • Prior experience in managing, tracking, and reporting metrics and progress through Prior experience with EAC reviews and periodic management reviews with internal and customer leadership
  • Prior experience with engineering processes

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Program/Project Management Level 4 or equivalent (or ability to obtain certification within a year)
  • Experience with EACs and proficiency with tools used for Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality
  • Extensive experience dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Prior experience on weapons development programs
  • Strong proficiency in partnering with matrixed organizations
  • Proven track record of customer relationship building
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management
  • Proven experience solving challenging technical problems in a development environment
  • Experience with Transition to Production and coordinating with cross functional engineering disciplines
  • Ability to thrive in an innovative environment to maximize profitability by identifying best practices in program execution
  • Ensure customer performance feedback and actions/requests are responded to in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner
  • Working knowledge of metrics and demonstrated ability to forecast and manage financials
  • Leadership experience using Lean/Agile methods to enable the development of capabilities in an iterative fashion, while conforming to traditional requirements and systems development milestones
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills necessary for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and team members with varying backgrounds and experience dealing with challenging situations

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
