About the Role
As a Learning & Development Specialist, you'll play a key role in helping Anthony & Sylvan build a high-performing, growth-oriented workforce by designing and delivering engaging training programs, enhancing the onboarding experience, and supporting employee development initiatives that help individuals build skills and advance their careers. Partnering closely with HR and business leaders, you'll foster a culture of continuous learning through talent development, career growth, workforce planning, and succession planning efforts, making a meaningful impact on employee engagement, organizational capability, and overall business success.
General Summary of Position
The Learning & Development Specialist plays a key role in advancing Anthony & Sylvan's commitment to building a high-performing, growth-oriented workforce. This role is responsible for designing and delivering impactful training programs, supporting onboarding and employee development, and helping embed a culture of continuous learning across the organization.
This individual will partner closely with HR and business leaders to strengthen onboarding, drive ongoing capability building, and support talent development initiatives including Individual Development Plans (IDPs), workforce planning, and succession planning. This role will help ensure employees have the skills, tools, and mindset needed to grow their careers while driving business performance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deliver employee learning and development programs across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, functional training, leadership development, compliance training, and professional skill-building initiatives.
  • Facilitate engaging learning experiences through a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led training, virtual sessions, workshops, e-learning platforms, and on-the-job learning opportunities, while maintaining supporting materials, job aids, and facilitator guides.
  • Lead and continuously improve the onboarding experience by facilitating new hire orientation, partnering with hiring managers on departmental onboarding plans, and ensuring new employees are equipped for success and aligned with company culture and expectations.
  • Partner with leaders and HR teams to identify development needs by assessing skill gaps, recommending targeted learning solutions, and supporting Individual Development Plans (IDPs), career pathing, and employee growth initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and development by championing a growth mindset, encouraging knowledge sharing and development ownership, and supporting leaders in integrating learning into performance and career development conversations.
  • Support workforce planning, talent reviews, and succession planning efforts by identifying high-potential talent, assisting with development planning, and helping build talent pipelines aligned with future business and leadership needs.
  • Manage training programs, systems, and analytics by administering learning platforms, tracking participation and completion, maintaining training records, ensuring compliance with required learning programs, and measuring training effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Relevant training, instructional design, or learning and development certifications preferred
Years of Experience
3-5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, Talent Development, or a related Human Resources function
Required Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies
Experience developing training materials, learning programs, and facilitator guides
Proven ability to facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions
Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning platforms (e.g., BizLibrary, Rippling Learning, LinkedIn Learning, or similar tools)
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to assess learning needs and implement effective development solutions
