The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is the national voice for academic nursing. AACN works to establish quality standards for nursing education; assists schools in implementing those standards; influences the nursing profession to improve health care; and promotes public support for professional nursing education, research, and practice.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager, Digital Learning and Engagement is responsible for managing AACN's digital learning and engagement initiatives, including virtual learning platforms, webinar technologies, online communities, leadership development programs, awards programs, and the program operations that support these initiatives. The position partners in program planning, coordinates implementation, and manages the day-to-day operations of these programs to ensure their successful delivery while enhancing member learning, engagement, and recognition.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Learning and Member Engagement

  • Manages the technology infrastructure, digital platforms, and operational processes that support AACN's digital learning and engagement initiatives, including online learning, webinars, leadership modules, virtual learning experiences, and AACN Connect communities.
  • Oversees learning management systems, webinar platforms, online community tools, dashboards, shared digital workspaces, and related applications to ensure reliable program delivery, a highquality user experience, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Administers AACN's online communities, including establishing and maintaining communities, monitoring engagement, supporting community leaders, coordinating communications, and recommending platform enhancements that strengthen member participation.
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of engagement strategies and digital communications that promote AACN's online learning and leadership development programs and enhance member participation.
  • Leadership Development Program Management
  • In collaboration with the Director of Academic Nursing Development, manages the implementation, logistics, operational workflows, and participant experience for AACN's leadership development programs, including the Academic Leadership Development Institute (AALDI), Executive Leadership Academy (ELAN), and PeertoPeer Mentoring Program.
  • Coordinates program timelines, registration, faculty and participant communications, program materials, virtual and inperson logistics, evaluations, and postprogram followup to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Awards Program Management
  • Serves as program manager for AACN's faculty awards and Excellence in Scholarship awards, overseeing annual program administration, application processes, communications, review workflows, selection committee support, recognition activities, and continuous process improvement.
  • Maintains award timelines, documentation, and communications while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and an excellent applicant experience.
  • Program Communications and Digital Content

  • Oversees the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of digital content supporting assigned programs, including webpages, newsletters, brochures, marketing materials, online resources, and participant communications.
  • Collaborates with internal staff to ensure communications are current, consistent, memberfocused, and aligned with AACN branding and organizational priorities.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Provides technical and operational support for virtual meetings, webinars, and other technologyenabled programs, as assigned.
  • Participates in crossfunctional initiatives and supports special projects and other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor’s degree required, with experience in program management, online learning, instructional technology, and digital engagement.

    Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, flexible, collaborative, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated experience coordinating programs, managing timelines, supporting online learning delivery, maintaining digital records, organizing communication assets, and working effectively with internal teams, members, faculty, speakers, vendors, and other stakeholders is required.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to prepare polished correspondence, develop clear narratives, organize complex information, create user-relevant program materials, and communicate professionally with diverse audiences.

    Additional qualifications include strong project and portfolio management skills, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, attention to accuracy, customer service orientation, data-informed decision making, stakeholder management, and the ability to recommend process improvements that enhance program quality and operational efficiency.

    Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Planner, Forms, and related document management tools is required. Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools to support drafting, summarization, meeting preparation, data organization, workflow automation, structured reporting, and content improvement is preferred. Familiarity with learning management systems, webinar platforms, online community platforms, awards management systems, dashboards, and association management tools is also preferred.

    COMPENSATION RANGE

    $70,000 - $85,000
