OPPORTUNITY:
This is an off-campus Federal Work-Study position for currently enrolled students, providing administrative support.
Job Location: Junior Achievement of Dallas, 3000 Pegasus Park Dr. Suite 720 Dallas, TX 75247
Hours: 15-25 hours per week, Hybrid role
Community: Junior Achievement of Dallas (JA Dallas) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development & Events Intern to support the Development team with event coordination, donor engagement activities, and administrative support.
This internship offers students hands-on experience working within a nonprofit development department while assisting with fundraising events, donor communications, and community engagement efforts. The intern will gain exposure to nonprofit operations, event planning, and project coordination while supporting initiatives that help advance JA Dallas' mission of preparing young people for success in a global economy.
Interns should be comfortable working in a professional office environment and supporting on-site events when needed. Some evening events may occur during the internship period depending on the development calendar.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Event Planning & Coordination
  • Assist with planning and preparation for donor, sponsor, and volunteer events
  • Help track RSVPs and event registrations
  • Prepare event materials such as name badges, agendas, and check-in sheets
  • Assist with event logistics and coordination on event days
  • Support post-event follow-up and documentation

Donor & Sponsor Support
  • Assist with organizing donor and sponsor information
  • Help prepare donor communication materials and sponsorship packets
  • Support the Development team with basic donor engagement activities

Administrative & Project Support
  • Assist with maintaining spreadsheets and tracking event details
  • Help prepare presentations or event-related materials
  • Support development-related projects as assigned
  • Assist with general administrative tasks as needed

Marketing & Communications Support
  • Assist with creating simple marketing materials using Canva or similar tools
  • Support event promotion and communication efforts when applicable
  • Assist with organizing event photos or recap materials

Learning Opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.   • Must be an enrolled student at DeVry/Keller.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, motivated individuals.
  • People who sit around, waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment.
