Job description

Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States for NCCPA as NCCPA will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas.

As the Employee Learning & Engagement Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and enhancing the employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle, including onboarding, professional development, employee engagement, wellness, recognition, and internal communications.

Reports To: Senior Manager of Human Resources

Who We Are

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is the only certifying organization for physician assistants in the United States. Established as a not-for-profit organization in 1974, we are dedicated to assuring the public that board certified PAs meet established standards of clinical knowledge and cognitive skills upon entry into practice and throughout their careers. All U.S. states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories have decided to rely on NCCPA certification as one of the criteria for licensure or regulation of PAs.

Location:NCCPA is a hybrid work environment with our headquarters located in Johns Creek, Georgia. NCCPA has determined that the telecommuting status of this position is hybrid, which means that employees in hybrid positions are allowed to split their work hours between working remotely and working onsite at the NCCPA headquarters. The duties of this position require that the candidate report on-site to the Johns Creek headquarters, at minimum, on a weekly basis and live within the commutable distance. NCCPA has defined commutable distance as within the State of Georgia and within 85 miles of ground transportation, one-way between an employeeโ€™s primary residence and the NCCPA headquarters in Johns Creek, Georgia.

How Will You Make a Difference? You willโ€ฆ
  • Design and administer a comprehensive onboarding program that aligns with NCCPAโ€™s culture, including coordinating and facilitating new hire orientation, onboarding activities, resources, agendas, and learning pathways.
  • Partner with managers on employee engagement, team culture, communication, and retention efforts.
  • Develop and lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, connection, and retention across NCCPAโ€™s hybrid and remote work environment.
  • Coordinate employee recognition, appreciation, and engagement programs, including service awards, EPIC, and the IDEA Council.
  • Assist with administering and analyzing the annual employee engagement survey and recommend opportunities to strengthen NCCPAโ€™s culture and employee experience.
  • Conduct employee check-ins and support action planning related to employee feedback and engagement surveys.
  • Promote wellness initiatives in partnership with NCCPAโ€™s Health and Wellness Committee and employee health and financial benefit partners.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate employee training programs and learning opportunities, including meetings, webinars, lunch and learns, and workshops.
  • Coordinate and manage required employee training programs, including cybersecurity awareness, harassment prevention, and other organizational training.
  • Maintain training calendars and records, including attendance, completion, scheduling, and other learning activities.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs through assessments, surveys, and employee feedback.
  • Monitor learning and training requests and expenses to identify trends and opportunities for future development programs.
  • Partner with management, subject matter experts, and committees to identify employee and organizational development opportunities.
  • Research and evaluate training and development vendors and serve as a resource for employees, managers, and leadership seeking learning and development opportunities.
  • Create consistent employee-facing communications related to HR programs, initiatives, policies, and resources.
  • Manage HR content on NCCPAโ€™s intranet, SharePoint sites, and other employee communication platforms.
  • Partner with the Communications Team on employee newsletters, announcements, and resource materials.
  • Provide support for special projects and employee-related activities as needed.
Hard Skills You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, orrelatedfield.Experience in lieu of education will be considered as well.
  • At least four years of progressive experience in employee development, engagement, training, people operations, human resources, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance fundamentals.
  • Experience facilitating and/or coordinating both in-person and virtual training and evaluating training options and alternatives.
  • Experience with HRIS and LMS systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Traliant, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, onboarding programs, or workplace operations.
  • Training or HR-related specialized credentials.
  • Knowledge of adult learning approaches, theories, and curriculum development.
