Job description

Kilpatrick, a large international law firm, is seeking a Coordinator for our Marketing & Business Development Department to be based in our Atlanta office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. This position will support a wide range of marketing and business development activities, with a focus on litigation but also supporting other practices as needed. This individual will work closely with other members of the Marketing, Business Development, and Communications teams and various staff groups throughout the Firm to execute client development-related requests from partners as well as Firm initiatives and events. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, new business proposals and RFP responses, practice team marketing materials and thought leadership, event and CLE support (including planning and execution), legal directory submissions, and market/competitive research. Ideal candidates are resourceful, responsive, highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • New Business RFPs and Proposals: Support the development of customized and time-sensitive presentations, pitch materials, and RFP responses and track outcomes.
  • Marketing Collateral: Assist with development of marketing collateral and provide ongoing review and revision of both existing and new materials. Materials include practice team overviews, experience, slide decks, brochures, handouts, and creative requests such as reusable ads for events and sponsorships. This includes coordinating with the Firm's Creative Services Manager and Senior Manager for Communications and Brand.
  • Marketing Communications: Support attorney practice teams in distributing client alerts, event invitations, and other internal and external communications. Includes website updates, proofreading, light design work, and mailing list management.
  • Event Support: Assist in the planning, promotion, and execution of firm-hosted events, CLEs, webinars, and sponsorship activities. Includes collateral and invitation development and distribution for events, CLE forms and materials, adding/updating content to the website, and maintaining department/practice group events in master Marketing calendar. When necessary, attend client events and provide day-of event support (may require limited travel).
  • Directory and Award Submissions: Coordinate the preparation of submissions for practice teams, including information sourcing, data gathering, and follow-up. Work with Business Development Managers to finalize submissions and ensure the website and other marketing materials are up-to-date and reflect the latest achievements.
  • Market Research: Work with the Research team to compile competitive and industry research to support proposals and a variety of client or industry-focused initiatives.
  • Technology: Work within and help drive implementation and lawyer/staff adoption of new Firmwide CRM and ERM technology.
  • Use of AI to develop efficiencies in daily work and share with department and lawyers.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
  • At least three (3) years' minimum experience; Law firm experience preferred but other comparable experience will be considered.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and follow-up skills are essential.
  • Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of MS Office, CRM systems, Vuture, Foundation, Zoom, Webex, document management systems, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team environment, pulling together the resources of the Firm across service lines to support business development efforts (cross-selling, up-selling).
  • Must be a good planner who is very detail-oriented and has the ability to organize and prioritize and meet deadlines with flexibility for shifting demands.
  • Strong communication skills required both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to be action and results-oriented.
  • Willingness to gain in-depth working knowledge of legal industry and align Team's services, value propositions and unique characteristics through continuous learning (i.e., reading, seminars, attorney interviews, etc.) to enhance ability to proactively add value to marketing efforts.

This is a full-time, regular position with a multi-faceted health benefit package including medical, dental, and vision. The firm also offers life insurance, short term disability plans and retirement plans in addition to holidays and paid time off. The firm offers hybrid work schedules combining in office work days as well as remote work days. The pay range for this position in Atlanta only is $35.89 to $42.56 per hour., and in Seattle only is $38.46 to $46.15 per hour.
