Are you ready to inspire and nurture the next generation? Join our team as a Daycare Teacher, where you'll collaborate with a dynamic Early Childhood Special Education team to design and implement play-based instruction for children, fostering growth, learning, and positive self-esteem. This opportunity is within an inclusive special education classroom, ensuring each child gets the attention they deserve.
Position Details:
  • Full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, following our daycare calendar.
  • Competitive rate of pay: $17.50 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Co-teach and co-plan under the lead of the Special Education Teacher and in collaboration with other Daycare Teachers using assigned curriculum.
  • Provide high quality care and instruction to all students through fun age and developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing educational insights and problem-solving collaboratively.
  • Maintain open communication with families, keeping them informed and supported.
  • Collaborate with the team to utilize diverse techniques and perspectives in program design.
  • Keep accurate records of children's progress and attendance, and prepare reports for parent conferences.
  • Attend required training sessions, ensuring compliance with OCFS regulations and program requirements.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education (one of the following):
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or related field OR
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and 1 year related experience, OR
  • 9 College credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field with a plan of study to get to CDA or Associate Degree and 2 years of experience related to caring for children.

Physical Capability
  • Ability to physically assist children to participate in the program; ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds; ability to engage in repetitive movements such as sitting/kneeling on floor, bending and stooping; ability to move quickly to attend to a running child.
