Job description

We are looking for dedicated individual to join our Early Childhood Education team as Associate Teacher. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and development of children while supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and care.

What you bring to the table:

  • Has 12 semester units ECE/CD, with a grade C or better, or CDA Credential or CTC.
  • Has 6 months related experience with children ages 0-5 years of age.
  • Has an Associate Teacher Permit or higher.
  • HS/EHS/MSHS/State-Braided Associate Teachers must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • Have a child development associate (CDA) credential or the California equivalent of a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit at time of hire (12 ECE semester units including core courses; and for EHS and infant/toddler classrooms must also have 6 infant/toddler semester units)
    • OR
    • Be enrolled in a CDA credential program that will be completed within 2 years;
    • OR
    • Have an associate or bachelor's degree (in any area) or be enrolled in a program leading to such a degree.
  • Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver’s license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.

As an Associate Teacher you will:

  • Provide care and education for children ages 0-5, ensuring a positive and engaging learning experience.
  • Collaborate with the Center Supervisor and Teachers to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Assume the responsibilities of a Teacher in their absence, guiding and supporting instructional assistants, parents, and volunteers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.
  • Assist in planning and executing educational activities that promote child development.
  • Participate in physical activities with children, including games, music, and outdoor play.
  • Assist with bus supervision, ensuring the safety and engagement of children during transportation.
  • Complete pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR training within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Complete 16 hours of training on preventative health practices and nutrition, as  required by Health and Safety Code within the first 30 days of hire.
