Job description

Position Overview
As a Helper (Apprentice) , you will be an essential part of our team, assisting the lead technician on job sites, learning and gaining hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair and/or replacement of systems. This role requires commitment to delivering exceptional service in the industry.
Essential Job Functions
  1. Learning and Development:
    • Assist experienced technicians and journeyman in various tasks to gain practical knowledge, including repair or replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Participate in on-the-job training to understand the basics of systems and learn to diagnose malfunctioning systems and components in order to correct any problems
  • Assist in reassembling and testing equipment following repairs.
  • Assist in the inspection and testing of the system to verify compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.
  1. Supportive Tasks:
    • Help with the setup and cleanup of work areas.
    • Carry tools and materials as directed by senior team members.
    • Assist licensed technician with all customer service calls received from dispatch
    • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order
  2. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols under the supervision of experienced personnel.
    • Attend safety training sessions to ensure a secure working environment.

  1. Documentation:
    • Learn to maintain accurate records of work performed and report to supervisors as required.
  • Record and report all faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders.

    • Work closely with team members to contribute to the successful completion of projects.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and peers.
  2. Other Job Duties:
    • Perform any other duties as required or assigned by direct supervisor or upper management.

Required Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be enrolled in or completed required trade school as required by state apprentice regulations.
  • A minimum of 0-1 years of related work experience including hands on training and work in the trade is preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions
Environment
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
  • Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend/holiday hours periodically
  • Will work both indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold to very hot and humid.
