We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Learning & Development Specialist in our People & Culture Department at our Leamington office.


What You'll Do:

Learning Design and Development:

  • Collaborate closely with business leaders, applying adult learning principles and instructional design practice to translate subject matter expertise and business needs into clear, engaging, learner-centred material that support intuitive, impactful, and user-centered learning experiences.
  • Design and deliver multi-modal learning experiences โ€” including digital learning, instructor-led, virtual, and hybrid options โ€” that align with business outcomes and learner needs.
  • Design, develop, and maintain digital learning resources that integrate multimedia elements (video, screen recording, graphical representations, animation, motion, interaction, storytelling, simulation, VR/AR etc.) to enhance engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools to accelerate design, improve quality, customise and personalise content, and enable innovation.
  • Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, presentations, assessments, and evaluations (including for a train the trainer model).
  • Support the development of translated, plain-language, and visually driven materials so that learning is accessible to our diverse workforce.
  • Maintain source files, version control, templates, and a library of reusable learning assets.
  • Review and refresh existing learning content on a scheduled cycle to keep it accurate, current, and aligned to policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, adapt and augment licenced learning content and courses to meet the specific learning needs of Nature Fresh employees.
  • Use AI tools within the design and development process (drafting, storyboarding, image, audio and video generation, translation, and quality review) in a manner consistent with Nature Fresh policies for acceptable use, privacy, confidentiality, and data security.
  • Tailor learning content to the varied technical comfort levels, languages, and working environments found across the organisation.

Training Coordination, Delivery and Impact:

  • Coordinate the successful delivery of learning initiatives, including program launches, pilot sessions, learner communications, participant registrations, facilitator and participant support, in-session facilitation support, and virtual and in-person delivery logistics to ensure a seamless learning experience.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate learning activities for diverse audiences (entry-level, farm, warehouse, office, and leadership).
  • Support the continuous improvement of learning solutions by gathering learner feedback, analyzing participation data, identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
  • Learning Management System and Learning Technologies:
  • Utilise the full capabilities of the LMS to support engaging, and effective learning.
  • Create, upload and publish accessible and mobile-first eLearning courses.
  • Build custom curricula and learning paths.
  • Run standard reports on completion, compliance, participation, and audit records for accuracy

General:

  • Work with the Communications team to promote learning offerings through multiple channels
  • Maintain the Learning and Development calendar and tracking learner outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Learning and Development processes, templates, and standards.
  • Support People and Culture projects and company events as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality when working with employees or company information.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedure

What You Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in learning and development, learning experience design, instructional design, training coordination, or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies demonstrated as an ability to translate complex concepts into engaging, learner-centered experiences; samples or a portfolio of learning materials are welcome.
  • Post secondary education in People and Culture, Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, adaptability, attention to detail, commitment to quality, and client-service orientation.
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple learning initiatives and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Curious and self-directed, with the confidence to learn new tools and platforms quickly and share that knowledge with others.
  • Experience designing learning resources for eLearning (including working within a Learning Management System), hybrid, instructor-led, and in-person delivery.
  • Experience creating multimedia learning elements (video, audio, graphics, interactive content); experience with tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud, Camtasia, Synthesia, Suno, ElevenLabs, or comparable AI design tools is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with general AI applications (such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), and demonstrated ability to leverage AI to support the design and development of learning content and learning environments.
  • Comfortable facilitating and presenting to small and large groups at all levels of the organisation.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with employees and management at all levels and across all departments in a professional, unbiased, and productive manner.
  • Strong reading, writing, oral communication, and effective listening skills are essential.
  • Ability to maintain respectful and professional relationships at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to interpret data and recommend improvements.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Forms.
  • A very high degree of confidentiality with regards to all employee and company-related matters. Second language skills, particularly Spanish, would be considered an asset.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and use of personal vehicle are required.


What To Expect:

  • Office setting - walking, sitting, and standing throughout the day.
  • Works Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm), with occasional Saturdays and holidays as needed. Hours may fluctuate according to business needs.
  • Required to visit locations that require walking/standing that may be in a cold warehouse or hot greenhouse setting.
  • Travel and personal use of vehicle required for offsite meetings, training, etc.
  • Ability to travel internationally to sites, particularly in the US.
