Job Description:

The Manager of R3 Project, eLearning and Development plays a key role in the College-wide R3 business transformation initiative. This initiative includes the replacement of the current Student Information System (GeneSIS). The College is leveraging this opportunity to redesign many business processes to better serve students and introduce efficiencies. The project also involves the introduction of a new portal to the Student Information System to improve the studentdigital experience.This is a significant investment for theCollegeand this role helps ensure that the new processes and software are effectively adopted throughout the College.

The incumbent is responsible for managing the development and delivery of college-wide training for the R3 Project, including the development of eLearning for faculty and students on the new Student Information System. The position reportstotheR3 Executive Lead, with direction from the Project Manager, Communications, Change Management, and Training. This position collaborates closely with the Manager, R3 Project,Engagement and Communications.

The incumbent:

  • Establishes an eLearning strategy and process for the development and delivery of R3 training.

  • Develops and manages thecollege-wide plan for training for the R3 Project, leveraging eLearning to support both in-class and online learning.

  • Establishes and manages the schedule forBusiness ProcessWalkthroughs and SIS Software training.

  • Monitorsthe Algonquin component oftheKnowledge Transfer Planfrom the SIS vendor to a specific group of individuals on the R3 project.

  • Assists the Subject Matter Experts training of core users by developing Software Simulations.

  • Developsthe training for general users andmakesit availableina common platform with other staffsupports.

  • Overseesa team of Business Analysts,aneLearning Technical Lead, and developers as they develop eLearning.

  • Works with R3 team members to develop online support resources for the new portal for students.

  • Developsinstructionaljob aids for Go-Live.

    The incumbent understands adult learning principles, use of technology in education, and best practices in learner engagement. The incumbent brings knowledge of Learning Management Systems, eLearning tools, as well as the eLearning design and development processes. The R3 Project will undertake Business Process improvement and a background in Lean or other methodologies would be an asset.

    As an R3 Project spokesperson, the incumbent frequently liaises withCollegeleadership and maintains positive working relationships. The incumbent understands how a college operates and can develop strong working relationships with college leadership.

    Required Qualifications:

    Education & Training

    • Minimum four (4) year degree in Education, Psychology, or related discipline demonstrating understanding of adult learning principles.

    • Master of Education or equivalent specializing in eLearning, curriculum development and/or adult education is an asset.

    • Universal Design and Technical Training in Learning Management Systems (Brightspace preferred).

    • Trained in Adobe Creative Suite and Intranet Technologies.

    Experience:

    Minimum seven (7) years experience in:

    • Adult learning principles, methodologies and tools;

    • Experience usingGeneSISor ACSIS, or similar student systems.

    • Demonstrated experience applying Universal Design Principles in training or instructional environments;

    • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering eLearning and other modes of training;

    • Experience working in thePost-secondarysector. Experience working within the Algonquin community an asset;

    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken;

    • Excellent active listening skills;

    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships and influence others toward a common goal;

    • Ability to work with all levels of an organization;

    • Experience working with stakeholder groups to identify issues and work toward solutions;

    • Experience working with external vendors;

    • Experienced in the use of continuous improvement principles;

    • Experience in the support of Enterprise-wide (ERP) deployment or support an asset.

    This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College's Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus.
