Summary

The Learning Technology Manager is responsible for the strategy, governance, administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the organization's Learning Management System (LMS) and enterprise learning technology ecosystem. Serving as the product owner for the LMS, this role ensures the platform delivers an intuitive, engaging, and business-aligned learning experience while supporting compliance, operational excellence, workforce capability, and organizational growth. The Learning Technology Manager leads the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, mobile learning, and digital learning platforms. S/he  manages vendor relationships, drives innovation, and partners with HR, Learning & Development, IT, Safety, Operations, and business leaders to maximize technology adoption, user experience, operational effectiveness, and organizational value while defining the future direction of Baker's learning technology ecosystem.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Learning Technology Manager will perform the following duties in a safe, productive, and effective manner: 

  • Provides strategic oversight of the overall strategy, governance, lifecycle, performance, and roadmap of the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Serves as the primary LMS administrator, including configuration, security, workflows, learning assignments, curricula, programs, certifications, and learning records
  • Translates business needs into technology requirements and prioritize enhancements, integrations, and system improvements
  • Leads testing and implementation of LMS releases, upgrades, enhancements, and new learning technologies
  • Evaluates and recommends emerging technologies, including AI, automation, mobile learning, analytics, and digital learning solutions
  • Partners with HRIS and IT to maintain integrations, data integrity, security, and alignment with the broader HR technology strategy
  • Improves the learner experience through better navigation, self-service capabilities, accessibility, automation, and platform design
  • Partners with Learning & Development, Safety, HR, and business teams to support learning programs and compliance training requirements
  • Develops dashboards and reporting to measure compliance, learner engagement, adoption, utilization, and platform effectiveness
  • Establishes standards, documentation, governance, and best practices for learning technology administration and digital content
  • Manages vendor relationships and participates in technology evaluations, licensing reviews, and investment recommendations
  • Provides technical guidance, training, and change support to administrators, stakeholders, and business partners
  • Champions LMS adoption and promote best practices across the organization
Requirements
  • Five years’ related experience, with three years of recent experience administering SAP SuccessFactors learning management systems, or similar technologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Education Technology, Education Administration, Instructional Design, or a related field is preferred
  • Proficiency with learning management system (LMS) administration, data base management, and online/virtual instruction leadership
  • Knowledge of learning or talent measurement/analytics methodologies
  • Knowledge of design software and editing tools (e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Captivate) is preferred
  • Experience with Adult Learning Theory and its application in virtual learning is preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers and Microsoft software programs such as Word and Excel
