Civil Site Project Engineer
We have an exciting career opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our land development team in North Carolina. Benesch has a culture anchored in quality and collaboration. In Wilmington we work on a very diverse mix of projects in land development ranging from parks, multi-use pathways, and grant projects to higher education projects to commercial projects, and international corporate headquarters in economic development sectors. We have three offices in NC including Wilmington, Charlotte and Raleigh. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with land development projects and comprehensive detailed knowledge and experience relating to the creation of plans in both commercial and public sector projects.
Some examples of jurisdictional knowledge in protocols for submission and permitting approvals include but are not limited to, The NC office of State Construction, New Hanover County, Pender County, Brunswick County, Columbus County, Onslow County, Craven County, Duplin County, City of Wilmington, various townships in the southeastern NC region and the piedmont, the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Catawba County, City of Hickory, Iredell County, City of Mooresville, City of Statesville, Gaston County and others.
Location
This engineer will have their own office in our Wilmington office and will work from the office a minimum of 4 days a week.
The Impact You Will Have
  • Create and execute project work plans
  • Interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
  • Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards
  • Design and Engineer various project elements
  • Obtain project permits and all applicable approvals
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Assist in the construction administration process as needed
What You Will Need
  • A minimum of 4 years of diverse and progressive site development experience
  • Licensed PE in the state of NC
  • 4-year undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with public agencies, private entities and/or local area governmental jurisdictions
  • Progressive experience with developing plans specifications, and submissions per development regulatory standards and requirements
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Ability to work independently and develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software
