In this position... 

  • The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager plays an important role in delivering learning solutions for our people, with a particular focus on training delivery excellence, leadership development, and supporting business operations. 
  • The role is responsible for leading a team of Trainers, ensuring consistent, engaging, and effective delivery of learning programs, and building leadership capability across the organization. The role collaborates with leaders, stakeholders, and subject matter experts (SMEs) across Ford Credit to ensure training and leadership programs are effective, engaging, relevant, timely, and support business needs. 
  • In addition, the role collaborates with HR and Ford Motor Company's L&D teams to maximize alignment and synergies, and partners with instructional design peers to ensure a seamless handoff from content design to delivery.
  • This role is equal parts facilitation excellence, leadership development expertise, coaching and developing L&D professionals, and program management. You'll have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Psychology, or other related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with a Master's degree or 8 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree, in L&D, facilitation, or leadership development
  • 5+ years of team management experience in a large organization
  • Exceptional expertise in facilitation; demonstrated ability to recognize, source, and coach stellar facilitators
  • Demonstrated experience assessing critical leadership and learning needs for an organization
  • Proven success consulting with leaders and key stakeholders
  • Experience with a variety of learning delivery methods

What you'll do...

  • Manages a team of Trainers and coordinates with others to deliver engaging, high-quality training experiences that drive increased team and employee performance and engagement, with a focus on business operations of Ford Credit.
  • Manages delivery schedules and facilitation assignments to Trainers, monitors workload, facilitator readiness, and emerging trends, serves as a primary L&D point of contact for delivery-related matters, and guides the team to ensure efficient, consistent, and timely delivery of training.
  • Owns leadership learning experiences designed to prepare employees to lead, grow, and optimize the business; leverages internal expertise and vendors to develop, deliver, and maintain best-in-class leadership development experiences.
  • Assesses current and future leadership development needs of the organization through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and data analysis, and translates findings into targeted development solutions in partnership with the Talent team.
  • Oversees piloting and delivery of new enterprise-wide learning and leadership programs, provides feedback to instructional design partners to ensure successful future training deployment, and guides Trainers to monitor and evaluate trainee progress and training effectiveness.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams and leaders to develop and deliver enterprise-wide leadership and professional development solutions that drive strategic development goals. Provides guidance and support to leaders in addressing L&D-related issues.
  • Coordinates with Trainers, people leaders, and employees for appropriate implementation of training schedules, procedures, and policies, while ensuring compliance and consistency in delivery.
  • Develops strong relationships with HR, Corporate L&D, instructional design peers, and key leaders to be known as the leadership development and training delivery expert within the organization.
