Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to support global execution of Deloitte's tax strategy as we shift from "doing digital" to "being digital" by reimagining how we engage with our clients, deliver our services, operate our business, and create value.
Work you'll do
As a Deloitte Manager, Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for managing vendor teams in building and delivering platform features according to prioritization. You will track and monitor progress, ensure timely reporting of milestone and dependency status, monitor risks and issues to escalate to leadership, and execute day-to-day coordination activities to support the technology transformation.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Set development team's priorities and adherence to delivery standards.
  • Provide leadership coordination and oversight within one delivery team to deliver functionality on behalf of Tax.
  • Coordinate with business representatives when details are needed.
  • Partner on the design and ensure product meets specifications by conducting demos at Program Increment Sessions.
  • Follow standards, guidelines, and metrics aimed at delivering business value quickly and efficiently.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate product-related risks (escalate issues to the Delivery Lead and/or Portfolio Lead as needed).
A successful candidate would possess these skills:
  • Clear, audience-centered communication - Ability to translate complex technical concepts, product decisions, and delivery risks into clear, actionable information for nontechnical business stakeholders.
  • Active listening and stakeholder empathy - Ability to understand business needs, ask effective questions, and tailor communication to different audiences, including tax professionals, technology teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Influence and facilitation - Ability to build alignment, lead productive discussions, facilitate demos and working sessions, and influence decisions across teams without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Adaptability and sound judgment - Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment, adjust to changing priorities, manage competing demands, and escalate risks or issues with appropriate context and recommendations.
The team
Deloitte Tax LLP's Tax Transformation Office (TTO) is responsible for the design, development, and deployment of innovative, enterprise technology, tools, and standard processes to support the delivery of tax services. The TTO team focuses on enhancing Deloitte Tax LLP's ability to deliver comprehensive, value-added, and efficient tax services to our clients. It is a dynamic team with professionals of varying backgrounds from tax technical, technology development, change management, Six Sigma, and project management. The team consults and executes on a wide range of initiatives involving process and tool development and implementation including training development, engagement management, tool design, and implementation.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 - 3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years' experience leading technical delivery teams and conducting product development using different software development. methodologies, like Agile and Scaled Agile.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and influencing as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of risk management and tracking techniques.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $116,175 to $237,375.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
