Reporting to the Plant Director. We are seeking a Lean Transformation Manager for our Taunton, MA location. Lead Transformation, Not Events

If youโ€™re a true Lean leader, you already know the difference, anyone can run Kaizen events. Very few can **transform a site, influence senior leadership, and deliver sustained results. **Thatโ€™s exactly what this role is built for.

Why This Role Will Stand Out to You
  • This isnโ€™t a โ€œsupportโ€ CI role.

You will own the transformation agenda.

  • Direct line to the Site Director and leadership team

  • Full responsibility for shaping and driving the siteโ€™s Lean strategy

  • Authority to influence what gets worked onโ€”and what doesnโ€™t

  • A mandate to deliver real, measurable business impact (not activity metrics)

If youโ€™ve ever been frustrated by:

  • Leadership that โ€œtalks Leanโ€ but doesnโ€™t commit

  • Kaizen events that donโ€™t stick

  • CI roles with no real influence

โ€ฆthis is the environment youโ€™ve been looking for.

What Youโ€™ll Actually Do Own the Transformation
  • Build and drive a site-wide Lean roadmap aligned to business strategy (Hoshin Kanri)
  • Partner directly with the Site Director to prioritize the highest-impact opportunities

  • Drive measurable gains across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth

Lead Where It Matters
  • Facilitate high-impact Kaizen events focused on flow, constraint removal, and cost transformation

  • Target high-volume, high-revenue value streams where results matter most

  • Ensure every initiative delivers hard, tracked resultsโ€”not theoretical improvements

Be the Change Agent Others Arenโ€™t
  • Challenge leadership teams when neededโ€”and bring them along

  • Embed Lean thinking into daily decisions, not just projects

  • Ensure sustainability through standard work, daily management, and accountability systems

Build a Lean Culture (Not Just Tools)
  • Develop operators, supervisors, and leaders into capable problem solvers

  • Coach the organization on how to think, not just what to do

  • Create a pipeline of future Lean leaders across the site

What You Bring (And What Weโ€™re Really Looking For)

Youโ€™re not just certified. Youโ€™ve delivered results:

  • Experienced Lean Black Belt / CI Leader in manufacturing

  • Proven track record of driving measurable improvements (cost, throughput, lead time, etc.)

  • Deep expertise in:

    • Value Stream Transformation

    • Flow & Pull Systems

    • Hoshin Kanri

    • SMED, TPM, Standard Work

    • Daily Management & Visual Systems

But more importantly:

  • You know how to influence leaders who donโ€™t report to you

  • Youโ€™ve successfully changed behavior, not just processes

  • You push for impact over activity

Strong Differentiators
  • Lean systems experience (TPS, Danaher, etc.)

  • Advanced problem-solving and analytics (SPC, regression, hypothesis testing)

  • Change leadership credentials (PROSCI, Agile, etc.)

The Bottom Line

This role is for someone who wants to:

  • Own a transformationโ€”not just participate in one

  • Build something that actually lasts

  • Operate as a true strategic partner, not a support function

If youโ€™re already succeeding where you areโ€”but know you could have greater impact in the right environmentโ€”this is that opportunity.

Required Competencies, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in engineering (industrial engineering strongly preferred)

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with leadership in Kaizen, Continuous Improvement.

  • Proficient in Gemba Kaizen, Value Stream Analysis, Visual & Daily Management, Hoshin Kanri, SMED, TPM, Standard Work Development, and 3P Layout.

  • Strong ability to facilitate Kaizen Events on these methods and tools and helping to identify future Lean minded personnel.

  • Proficiency leading cost reduction and process flow improvement initiatives.

  • Proficiency with Kaizen tools, such as 3P, TAKT Time, Standard Work Combination Sheets, Standard WIP and Kaizen Newspaper.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to provide leadership and strategic direction as part of the site leadership team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean Master on TPS or Danaher Business System Certification.

  • Project management experience with a proven track record of meeting timelines or proactively adjusting to achieve planned goals.

  • Agile certification such as SCALE.

  • Change management such as PROSCI certification.

  • Strong analytical background - SPC, Hypothesis Testing, Regression, and Correlation Analysis.

  • Problem-solving skills, such as 5-Whys, 8D, Shainin, etc.
