The Temporary Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and utility vehicles to perform turf and landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, trimming, and blowing.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and promptly report any issues to the Field Lead.
  • Assist with bed preparation and the installation and maintenance of plant materials (annuals, perennials, bulbs, sod, trees, and shrubs) under the direction of the Field Lead.
  • Support the installation of sod and seeding in turf areas.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with established safety protocols and university policies.
  • Maintain clean and organized work sites, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Assist with debris and leaf removal as well as general sanitation efforts.
  • Proactively report notable incidents such as safety concerns, accidents, equipment damage, or incomplete assignments to the Field Lead.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and maintain professional communication with the campus community.
