Job description

The BDG Team Lead is responsible for the day to day management function of a Texas based sales team dedicated to the development of accounts in a defined region. The Team Leader will organize and manage their team in a way to ensure that all branches of a region have adequate coverage to assist those accounts entrusted to the Business Development Group. This individual is responsible for providing direct guidance and support based upon his/her own sales experiences to ensure growth in key areas such as sales, gross profit, and active numbers of customers within a defined account portfolio.

Our Team Leads:
  • Manage a group of sales individuals who are aligned in a team concept to support an assigned geography, while ensuring sound sales and quality principles are in place supporting branch/regional objectives (such as sales, gross profit and active customers).
  • Coaches and develops the account team by participating in the interviewing and hiring of qualified people, providing effective training, utilizing valuable communication and motivational techniques, providing ongoing performance management, and rewarding individuals for higher levels of performance.
  • Initiate communication and collaborate with branch and regional colleagues to work on sales leads and significant quotation opportunities in an effort to improve chances for winning business.
  • Analyze assigned regional market of responsibility giving focus and direction to the team on profitability and pricing strategies based upon competitive, market, and customer dynamics. The Team Lead will need to effectively utilize TTI systems, local resources, market data, and reporting to retrieve information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires a HS Diploma or GED. Business related bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One to two years of demonstrated successful sales experience as BDG account representative selling the full TTI line card is also preferred.

  • Strong prospecting, probing, and qualification skills to maximize ROI.
  • Interacts effectively with department managers, individuals and groups inside and outside the organization.
  • Arrives on time to work scheduled hours and supports local time zone of assigned geography.
