Job description

At Living Well Disability Services, we transform the lives of people impacted by disabilities through the delivery of exceptional services. Our vision is a day when all people impacted by disabilities—and our employees—live well.

We are seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising, donor engagement, grant coordination, and development operations. This role works closely with the Director of Development to strengthen donor relationships, support fundraising initiatives, manage donor data, and advance the organization's mission.

This is a full-time, salaried position based in our Mendota Heights office. Regular travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area is required to visit program sites, meet with donors, and support organizational initiatives. This position is primarily in-person, with opportunities for remote work.


Position Summary

The Development Associate plays a key role in supporting Living Well’s fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Working closely with the Director of Development, this position helps cultivate donor relationships, coordinate stewardship activities, and implement fundraising strategies that increase philanthropic support for the organization.

The Development Associate manages donor communications, including fundraising appeals, acknowledgments, stewardship materials, and email campaigns, ensuring donors receive meaningful and timely updates about the impact of their support. This role also serves as a central resource for donor data and development operations, maintaining accurate records within the donor database, generating reports, and supporting data-driven fundraising efforts.

Additionally, the Development Associate assists with grant and sponsorship coordination, fundraising events, committee support, and other administrative activities that contribute to the success of the Development Department and Living Well’s mission.

All responsibilities are performed in alignment with Living Well’s core values of Advocacy, Community, Leadership, Respect, and Wellness.


Qualifications

Required

  • Two or more years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with donor databases or CRM systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License and ability to meet organizational driving requirements.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study.

Preferred

  • Experience in human services, disability services, or another mission-driven nonprofit environment.
