A DAY IN THE LIFE
The Service Plumber position is responsible for performing the highly skilled, discipline specific tasks required to ensure the smooth operation of Holiday Beach Companies facilities as it pertains to all industrial, commercial and non-commercial plumbing equipment, utilities and infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Service and repair all plumbing systems, including, but not limited to water closets; urinals; sinks; faucets; drinking fountains and all associated piping by complying with all NSF, ADA and State Plumbing codes and regulations. Interface with Contractors and Code Enforcement Agencies.
  • Service all infrastructure, including, but not limited to sanitary lines; grease lines; oil lines; grease traps; lift stations and interceptors. Operate large cable commercial sewer machines and high-pressure line jetting equipment.
  • Service all potable water systems as it pertains to all Facilities, including, but not limited to water softeners; water heaters; potable backflow preventers; circulating pumps; tempering valves; mixing valves; high pressure lines; nozzles and pumps and all related potable water assets.
  • Service all natural gas systems, including, but not limited to, all above ground and below ground pipes, valves and fittings.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Installation of water, sewer lines and gas
  • Interpret the blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials in residential buildings.
  • Install pipes and fixtures in residential buildings, these must be in accordance with all guidelines.
  • Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
  • Assemble fittings and valves for installation and modifies the lengths of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials.
  • Collaborate with other construction workers, contractors and other departments.
  • Maintain good working order of Company vehicle. Includes: refueling and servicing as necessary, reporting mechanical issues, cleaning and keeping the Company vehicle stocked on a regular basis.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work area
  • Maintain safety protocols
  • Ability to be the Lead technician on projects, overseeing all helpers on the project and ensuring that all work is performed in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Work Days
Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday but must have the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and afterhours, when required.
  • Available to work on-call rotation.
  • Willing to work overtime, when the situation arises.

Education
  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Technical school is preferred.

Experience
  • 5+ years in industrial and commercial construction, maintenance facility or a fast-paced service company dedicated to plumbing repair is required.
  • 1+ year in Lift stations is preferred.

Qualifications/ Requirements
  • Experience in residential plumbing systems

  • Be knowledgeable or have the willingness to learn new skills and technology.
  • Experience in residential and light commercial plumbing codes

  • Ability to work in confined spaces (attic, under houses, etc.)
  • Must be able to safely work at heights as required to perform job duties, including but not limited to the use of ladders, accessing rooftops, elevated mechanical equipment, balconies, exterior staircases, and upper-level units in short-term rental properties.
  • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms as part of routine service and retro plumbing work is required.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work from elevated surfaces as part of daily job duties.
  • Must be able to maintain balance and stability while performing work at heights in residential and commercial environments.
  • Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials while navigating elevated access points.
  • Lift and carry material weighing up to 75 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Dexterity to place pipes down with precision and accuracy.
  • Good physical fitness: hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond to sounds.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including outdoors in time of excessive heat and inclement weather.
