Job description

Description The Southwest Suburban Health Department is seeking a Full-Time Environmentalist to serve as a public health professional dedicated to protecting the health and safety of the communities we serve. This role enforces health and safety regulations, conducts retail food and recreation inspections, investigates nuisance complaints, performs lead risk assessments, performs weights and measures compliance checks, and supports a variety of other environmental health programs. The Environmentalist exercises strong judgment and decision-making skills while contributing to policy updates and ensuring compliance with evolving local and state regulations.

This position will split time between the West Allis and Greenfield office locations. Enjoy a competitive benefits package, including contributory medical coverage, fully paid dental benefits, a dual pension program, and paid time off. West Allis residents earn an additional 5% on top of the pay range.
