As a Station Agent, you will perform a cross-functional role, combining the duties of a Customer Service Agent and a Ramp Agent to ensure safe and efficient station operations. Position Overview

As a Station Agent, you will serve as a versatile team member responsible for both “above the wing” customer service and “below the wing” ramp operations. You will be the first point of contact for passengers, playing a vital role in creating a positive airport experience. Simultaneously, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of customer baggage, operating ground service equipment, and coordinating the servicing of aircraft.

This position requires a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strict time constraints. You must be comfortable interacting with customers, proficient in using computers, and capable of working outdoors in various weather and noise conditions. The role demands flexibility to work with multiple carriers and fulfill various duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service Operations
  • Greet and assist customers promptly, courteously, and professionally both in person and over the phone

  • Utilize airline computer systems to provide accurate flight information, process ticketing and boarding documents, record lost or damaged baggage, and manage cargo tracking

  • Accurately process credit card and personal check transactions, ensuring all collections are properly accounted for

  • Announce incoming and outbound flights clearly and accurately

  • Operate jetways to ensure they are in the proper position prior to aircraft arrival, and assist with the safe opening, closing, and securing of aircraft doors

  • Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport as needed, ensuring their safety and comfort

Ramp & Ground Operations
  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, mail, and cargo from the aircraft to the airport

  • Operate ground equipment such as tugs, cargo carts, service trucks, and belt loaders

  • Guide aircraft to and from gate positions to maintain on-time connections

  • Protect baggage and other equipment from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions

  • Prepare the cabin for customer boarding, including cleaning seats, seat pockets, floors, galleys, and lavatories

  • Ensure ground equipment is available in the ramp area and bag room for upcoming flights

General Duties
  • Work independently, manage tasks without direct supervision, and consistently meet service standards

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain safe working conditions for yourself and others

  • Communicate effectively with managers and lead agents to manage daily schedules

  • Display a professional and positive image, adhering to company grooming and uniform standards at all times

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time)

  • Ability to lift and move items weighing between 50–70 lbs occasionally

  • Ability to accept and process checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs

  • Ability to work in extreme conditions (hot and cold weather) and small spaces

  • Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language fluently

  • Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping, baggage routing, and processing transactions

  • Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by operational needs

  • Must pass an extensive post-offer, pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check as mandated by federal law

  • Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment drug test
