Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Diagnostic Imaging Lead Tech performs diagnostic imaging exams while providing frontline supervision to modality staff to ensure the highest level of customer service and image quality.

What You'll Do in This Role

  • You will provide daily in-charge supervision for modality staff, directing operations to ensure the department remains survey ready at all times.
  • You will perform modality procedures using appropriate equipment, utilizing advanced knowledge of safety protocols and anatomy to ensure optimum imaging.
  • You will facilitate patient flow throughout the modality to promote satisfaction and minimize wait times while interacting with other leads to provide a continuity of care.
  • You will evaluate the quality of procedures, determining if additional imaging is required and communicating those standards clearly to the staff.
  • You will prepare work schedules or assist the supervisor with scheduling, including tracking attendance and managing personnel issues as they arise.
  • You will mentor new employees and manage the orientation process within the modality to ensure a seamless transition for the team.
  • You will oversee daily functions of the PACS system and related software, ensuring all imaging equipment is utilized effectively and technical issues are reported promptly.
  • You will lead quality assurance and continuous quality improvement initiatives, assisting with the assessment of staff competency and performance.
  • You will provide compassionate care by informing patients about their procedures, answering questions, and supporting the dignity of every individual you serve.

What Qualifications You'll Need

  • You must be a graduate of an accredited 24-month Radiologic Technology Program.
  • You need to be ARRT registered (R).
  • You must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • You must have a minimum of two years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
