The Opportunity
The Mounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting mounting department operations by managing job setup, inventory, tooling, plate systems, and communication between key departments. This role requires the ability to work independently, support leadership coverage when needed, and help reduce cost through effective plate and inventory management.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock
  • Set up jobs in the mounting stacker system.
  • Manage stickyback inventory and ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
  • Manage the plate towers and perform regular system audits.
  • Manage printing sleeve and adapter inventory, including identifying when items need to be ordered.
  • Mount jobs independently without supervision.
  • Cover the Mounting Lead role when needed.
  • Manage tooling for upcoming and new jobs and maintain the tooling storage area.
  • Understand, manage, and communicate plate costs and plate reorder issues to help reduce cost and unnecessary spending.
  • Communicate challenges and issues between the pre-press, mounting, and printing departments and support solutions to those challenges.

What you need to succeed
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to comprehend engineering forms to confirm coordinates and layouts.
  • Must have the ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
