OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Match has a 2026-2027opening for a PreK Paraprofessional. The position is based at 100 Poydras St. in Hyde Park. The hours for these positions are 7:00am-2:45pm (7:00am-4:30pm on Wednesdays for afternoon professional development). Compensation is $52,499/year and can be higher if the candidate has prior relevant experience. The PreK Paraprofessional will play an integral role in supporting the lead teacher in one of our Pre-K classrooms. The Pre-K paraprofessional will work closely with the lead teacher and the entire PreK teamย to ensure that our students are able to learn in a warm, positive and structured classroom environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with students in instructional and classroom activities at the direction of the lead teacher
- Assisting with academic, functional and/or specifically designed instructional or physical activities
- Supportingย individual students and help them complete assignments or explain material they do not understand
- Communicating regularly with classroom teachers and parents regarding student's needs and progress
- Supporting and ensuring the safety of excessively disruptive students, which may include physical management techniques at times
- Providing clerical support and material preparation supportย to teachersย
- Upholding high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
- Participating in professional development activities, including but not limited to: instructional coaching, content meetings, and weekly meetings with the lead teacher.
