Position Overview:

We are hiring a Lead Operator to join our team in Hammond, IN. The Lead Operator has a very significant impact on the overall safety and environmental impact on the plant, operating the plant in a safe, environmentally sound, and profitable manner. The Lead Operator is to maintain all parameters of the unit from feeding the various feed streams into the unit to the production of various grades of sulfuric acid.

We are not offering relocation or visa sponsorship for this role at this time.

We are not working with agencies on this role at this time.


What you will be doing:

• Perform the LOTO for all of the unit’s maintenance items

• Attend and contribute to regular monthly safety meetings

• Implement the STOP WORK POLICY

• Review, follow, and in some cases write job procedures

• Report and mitigate any leaks, spills, or fugitive emissions

• Perform inspections on all equipment and log the findings of those inspections

• Comply with the CAR SEAL PROGRAM

• Maintaining unit parameters according to all unit permits

• Work in 12-hour rotating shifts
Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted

• Certified vibration analyst I, TIG welding, and a journeyman millwright

• DCS operation/PLC operation

• Basic math and mechanical aptitude

• Demonstrated safe behavior and ability to follow procedures

• Proven knowledge of pressures, process flows, and temperature


Rotating 12-hour shifts
