Lead Occupational Therapist
Elmhurst, NY
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist ready to take on a leadership role and make a lasting impact on your patients and your team? We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Lead Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient rehabilitation team in Elmhurst, Hempstead. This is your opportunity to lead a team of talented professionals and help patients achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.
In this leadership role, you will use your expertise to mentor and guide a team of OTs, while continuing to provide hands-on care to patients. Your leadership will help shape the direction of patient care and support your colleagues in delivering exceptional outcomes.
Your Role:
  • Lead & Mentor Team Members: Oversee and guide a team of Occupational Therapists, providing mentorship and support while ensuring best practices in patient care.
  • Develop & Implement Treatment Plans: Create personalized therapy plans based on patient assessments to address their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs.
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Conduct therapeutic interventions to help patients improve motor skills, cognition, and daily living activities.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with physical therapists, speech therapists, physicians, and other healthcare providers to ensure holistic care for patients.
  • Monitor & Document Progress: Regularly assess patients' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed, and ensuring accurate documentation for compliance and continuity of care.
  • Foster a Positive Work Environment: Promote a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging professional development and team growth.
Qualifications:
  • Active Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license
  • NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification required
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, with leadership experience preferred
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply
