Job description

About this role:

The Wells Fargo Application Hosting - Secure Network Services (AH-SNS) product provides foundational network infrastructure leveraged by Technology Infrastructure products and platforms in the Wells Fargo Data Centers. It also provides connectivity for business partners, the public Internet, and public cloud providers. AH-SNS is transforming operations to provision network capacity at an accelerated pace through full automation, providing transparency to the consumer and the network operators throughout the lifecycle of the infrastructure.

The Lead Network Engineer for the AH-SNS Internet team is responsible for the development of standardized Internet network architectures and design, in addition to network automation, to build, provision, operate, and maintain world class engineered network solutions. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with network infrastructure and networking technologies with a solid understanding of automation and software development tools.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead and participate in the development of standardized Internet network solutions
  • Lead the review, resolution and implementation for the most complex technical issues and initiatives related to large scale network applications, data systems, voice and other technical products and services
  • Use and create diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service or data to systems
  • Evaluate or review queries to extract data, create standard procedures, or perform limited programming to fine tune systems supported
  • Research performance trends and recommend process improvements
  • Perform complex migrations from development to production, upgrades, installations and configurations
  • Make decisions in security and regulatory policies to design and implement foolproof secured network solutions
  • Assess changes for risk to production systems and assure quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported areas
  • Identify gaps in current technology processes and recommend changes to assure Service Level Agreements can be supported
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of combined Network Engineering with automation experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience with configuration of routing and switching platforms and solutions from Cisco and Arista
  • 5+ years of experience with IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) in a large enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Ansible, Go, JINJA, Python, REST, JSON, and YAML.
  • 3+ years of experience with network management, automation, and orchestration tools, such as Ansible


Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and testing standardized Internet network and security solutions
  • Demonstrated expertise in BGP, IPSEC, VPN, PKI and related technologies
    Relevant certifications from Cisco, Arista, and cloud service providers
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile and related tools like JIRA
  • Familiarity with tools like Ansible, Ansible Automation Platform, GIT, Jenkins, Cisco DCNM and Arista CVP
  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment
  • Experience developing and managing automated testing
  • Demonstrated skill developing and maintaining technical standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated continuous learner

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$119,000.00 - $187,000.00
