What is a lead gen specialist?

Lead Gen Specialists, or Lead Generation Specialists, are professionals responsible for identifying and qualifying potential customers for a business’s products or services. They use various strategies such as cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, and networking to generate interest and gather information about prospective clients. Their main goal is to build a pipeline of qualified leads that can be passed on to the sales team, helping to drive business growth and increase revenue. Lead Gen Specialists must possess strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and a solid understanding of the target market.

How does a lead gen specialist typically collaborate with sales and marketing teams?

Lead Gen Specialists work closely with both sales and marketing teams to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads. They often coordinate with marketing to align campaigns and messaging, and communicate with sales to understand the types of leads that convert best. Regular meetings and feedback loops are common, allowing Lead Gen Specialists to adjust strategies based on sales outcomes and market trends. This collaboration helps optimize lead quality and enhances the overall effectiveness of the sales funnel.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a lead gen specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lead Gen Specialist, you need expertise in market research, data analysis, and CRM management, often supported by experience in sales or marketing. Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and email automation platforms is typically required. Strong communication, resilience, and creative problem-solving help you engage prospects and adapt strategies effectively. These skills are crucial for consistently identifying high-quality leads and driving business growth in a competitive environment.

Job description

Lead Gen and Events Specialist is the heartbeat of TITLE Boxing Club's local presence. You are the face members see before class, the energy that keeps them coming back, and the relentless force bringing new people through the door. This is not a desk job — you'll be on the club floor during classes, out in Boston's neighborhoods, and in the community converting conversations into memberships while building relationships that keep people coming back for more.
This role is equal parts hunter and connector: you're growing our membership through aggressive grassroots lead generation and deepening the community that makes people stay. If you light up when meeting new people, get a rush from turning a cold conversation into a new member, and believe fitness communities can change lives — this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation amp; New Member Growth
  • Be on the floor during classes and in the community daily — meeting potential members, sparking conversations, and turning connections into leads
  • Use AI tools to research and identify local lead-generation opportunities: business partnerships, corporate wellness programs, residential buildings, community events, and neighborhood activations
  • Build outreach lists and initiate first-touch communication to set up meetings for the Marketing Manager and Club Managers
  • Track lead sources, outreach status, and follow-up needs in shared systems — own the pipeline and keep it moving

Ambassador amp; Community Outreach
  • Develop and sustain authentic relationships with TITLE Ambassadors and influential community partners who can drive new member acquisition
  • Execute TITLE's product seeding strategy through Ambassadors and community partners
  • Follow up with leads and prospects with urgency — your job isn't done until they're booked into a class
  • Make retention personal: conduct membership retention calls and individual outreach to keep members engaged and coming back

Event Coordination amp; Setup
  • Plan and coordinate lead-generating events and community activations — pop-ups, tabling, and neighborhood events designed to bring new faces into the club
  • Support member appreciation and re-engagement events that reduce attrition and strengthen loyalty
  • Research and secure local sponsors and partners to support events, freeing up managers to focus on daily operations

Marketing Operations
  • Prepare marketing materials, signage, and event kits that represent the brand at its best
  • Capture social content — photos, videos, and member testimonials — during classes and events
  • Support email campaigns, local marketing calendars, and campaign execution

Administrative amp; Reporting
  • Maintain organized outreach trackers, lead lists, and partnership logs
  • Deliver weekly summaries of lead-gen progress, event pipeline, and community partnership conversations

Qualifications
  • You are genuinely outgoing — you don't just tolerate meeting new people, you thrive on it, and you're energized by turning a cold conversation into a real connection
  • Passionate about lead generation and community building in equal measure — you want to grow something, not just maintain it
  • Strong communicator in person, on the phone, and in writing — comfortable initiating outreach and following up with confidence
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple relationships, leads, and projects simultaneously without dropping the ball
  • Evenings and weekends are a core part of this role, not an exception — that's when our community is most alive and you need to be there
  • Passionate about fitness, wellness, or community-based experiences — you don't have to be a boxer, but you have to believe in what we're building
  • Curious and excited about AI and new technology tools — you'll use them daily to research, create, and outreach smarter
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Sports Management, or a related field preferred
  • Must be located in Boston

Job Perks
  • Free TITLE Boxing Club membership
  • Free classes at partner studios including Solid Core and Yoga Box
