Key Responsibilities
  • Lead quantitative analysis and work to deliver on-time results to clients
  • Proficiency with fundamental modeling of electricity markets in support of electricity trading
  • Provide clients with expertise in the areas of analytic modeling for asset valuation, risk management, and renewable integration
  • Provide clients with expertise in energy-related commodity trading, energy markets quantitative analysis, electricity market operations, power structuring
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on market operations and strategies
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support real-time market operations and ensure system reliability which may include occasional weekends or evenings
  • Devise new approaches to represent results that provide support for decision analysis
  • Assimilate complex information into readily understood reports and presentations
  • Perform in-depth analysis of power market operations
  • Solve complex analytic problems to make mission critical decisions for energy supply
  • Serve as a technical resource for scoping, building, deploying, and launch activities

Key Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering or energy required
  • 1+ years prior experience (5+ years of prior work experience for a Senior Analyst) in energy with a utility, consulting firm, government, or non-profit with a focus on energy
  • Understanding of energy modeling systems and methods
  • Command of wholesale power market structures and value streams
  • Demonstrated track record of working with clients and team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, teamwork skills, organization and work ethics
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and problem solve with minimum supervision
  • Strong analytical skills in analyzing and explaining complex data

Preferred
  • Master's or advanced degrees in economics, engineering, and/or energy strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with analytic software programming (R, Python or other languages) preferred
  • Previous experience in project management considered a plus
  • Knowledge of deregulated power market operations a plus
