Echo Sonographer

York Hospital in York, Maine is seeking a full-time, 40 hours per week, Echo Sonographer traveler to assist out Cardiology Team at our main campus. The Echocardiographer (Echo Tech) works with the practice team to assist in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the hospital/office setting under the supervision and direction of the Practice Providers, Cardiology Director, Lead Echo Tech and the Practice Manager within the Echo Tech's Scope of Practice. This includes, but is not limited to, prepare patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures, explain procedures to patients answering any questions they may have, obtain high quality imaging, assist physicians to interpret the data from the images, ensure that records are kept properly, and to provide care through the use of hospital and practice standards of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide care according to YH protocols and procedures. Demonstrate clinical competence in all modalities within echocardiography to provide accurate diagnostic information that is used by physicians to render final interpretations. Provide patient/caregiver education and act as patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of patient care. Provides age-specific, individualized care that supports protection from harm and that supports the family unit. Demonstrate commitment to quality through maintaining knowledge and competency in echocardiography as set forth by the ARDMS and/or CCI credentialing organizations. Provide optimum customer service as a member of the care team in person, by phone, or other practice supported patient messaging system to provide exceptional patient experiences and promote a professional work environment. Demonstrates competence in duties and responsibilities related to equipment and technology system performance, patient monitoring, archiving of studies and supply procurement. Organize exam rooms, set up for procedures, general cleaning and office upkeep, assist with quality monitoring/record keeping/inventory of hospital/office equipment/supplies. Ability to organize and multitask as a forward-thinker, and remain calm and personable in a fast paced practice setting to support the timely flow of patient care in the office/hospital setting. Provide efficient and effective care working with Providers during clinical sessions, as a reliable, flexible, and dependable team member. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamics of a constantly changing health care environment. Collaborate with other health care providers, physicians, Practice Manager, clinical staff, and support staff regarding practice and patient needs. Other duties as assigned. Must be proficient in all imaging modalities of Adult Echocardiography including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE). Registered Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS or CCI. (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) preferred with registry required within 1 year of employment as an R.D.C.S or R.C.S. Maintains and demonstrates competency in BLS (Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider) with a current certification (or to obtain within preliminary employment period), infections control, safety and all practice specific required skill review.

Shift: Monday - Friday b/t 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; with weekend call required, 1 on 4 off, Sat and Sun from 8 am to 12:00 pm.
