Position: Heap Leach Pad Operator
The Leach Pad Operator is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of heap leach facilities and associated process equipment. This entry-level position performs routine inspections, monitoring, maintenance support, and operational tasks related to solution distribution systems, pipelines, pumps, ponds, and leach pad infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure safe production practices, environmental compliance, and optimal recovery performance
Location: Lone Tree Mine, 29100 Lone Tree Mine Rd, Valmy, NV 89436
Responsibilities:
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

  • Conduct routine inspections of leach pads, solution ponds, pipelines, pumps, valves, and related equipment

  • Monitor and record operational data, including flow rates, pond levels, pressures, and solution distribution

  • Assist with the installation, relocation, and maintenance of drip lines, emitters, and solution distribution systems

  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions, leaks, spills, or safety hazards to supervision

  • Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping activities within assigned work areas

  • Support environmental compliance efforts by monitoring containment systems and reporting any concerns.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with equipment repairs as directed

  • Operate light equipment and vehicles when properly trained and authorized

  • Maintain accurate operational logs, inspection reports, and shift documentation

  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Work effectively with team members across operations, maintenance, and environmental departments

Qualifications:
  • Previous mining, construction, industrial, agricultural, or heavy equipment experience

  • Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, piping systems, and mechanical equipment

  • Ability to work safely in an industrial mining environment

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn operational processes

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
