Salary: 

Duties and Responsibilities:  Teaches college-level accounting courses.
Utilizes the Canvas Learning Management System.
Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
Demonstrates a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
Prepares and utilizes the course syllabus and assessments for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
Maintains access to students through posted office hours (virtual or on campus) and electronic communication; demonstrates effective written and oral communication skills.
Checks and responds to emails daily.
Maintains current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilizes a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
Evaluates students' performance through a variety of means to measure progress and keep them informed in a timely manner.
Demonstrates a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
Attends meetings and prepares reports, as necessary.
Other duties as required or assigned.

Required Education:  Master of Science in Accounting or Master of Business Administration (MBA) plus 18 graduate hours in accounting
Must meet SACSCOC credentialing requirements

Required Experience:  Three years of relevant work experience
Three years teaching experience - face-to-face and online

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Adhere to all applicable Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS) policies.
Must be able to instruct students in the completion of relevant projects.
Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and computers, utilizing a variety of software, is essential and includes but is not limited to the Internet, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must effectively and appropriately use technology in the curriculum.
Creates a positive learning environment for students using innovative, effective, and diverse teaching methods to engage students in their own learning and enhance student success. Collaborate effectively with colleagues and students of various cultures (including traditional, non-traditional, and international students) and socio-economic backgrounds.
Demonstrates and encourages professional growth and improvement. Demonstrates appropriate work ethic (attendance, cooperation, etc.). Projects a professional attitude. Maintains a professional appearance.
Maintains current standard reference books, periodicals, and manuals of a business, professional, technical, and industrial nature to facilitate the educational program objectives.
Maintains a healthy, safe, and secure classroom/lab environment. Posts emergency evacuation routes in case of natural or other disasters.
Requests adequate equipment and supplies to support the program. Ensures all instructional equipment and supplies meet safety standards.
Ensure tests and other means of assessing the achievement of students are sufficiently accurate.
Individual must be a committed, motivated self-starter who is capable of initiating and completing work with little supervision and/or as a part of a team on larger projects.
Promote technical and community college education. Ability to make independent decisions and demonstrate good judgment.
