What Youll Do

As a SchoolBusDriver, youll safely transport students while providing high-quality, consistent communication with dispatch and school partners. Youll lead by example, promote a positive culture, and help ensure each ride reflects Lake Countrys values ofintegrity, respect, and grace.


Responsibilities

  • Safely drive a bus along a designated route to pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops
  • Follow all LCT policies, procedures, and safety standards, including the Pre-Trip Inspection and Smith System concepts
  • Arrive at Base on time and prepared for routes (typically: 5:007:00 a.m. and 1:003:00 p.m.)
  • Maintain logs and reports, which may include mileage, fuel consumption, and student counts
  • Communicate effectively with parents, scholars, teachers, and colleagues
  • Demonstrate leadership, enthusiasm, and professionalism on and off the road
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the bus clean and presentable
  • Motivate and support fellow team members
  • Protect confidentiality and be respectful
  • Attend all safety meetings
  • Solve problems usingintegrity, respect, and grace

Education & Qualifications

  • Valid CDL or CLP with school bus and passenger endorsements
    • Will provide paid behind the wheel training to qualified candidates with current CLP
  • Pass Background Check, Clearinghouse, and have compliant MVR (motor vehicle record)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous experience driving a school bus preferred but not required


Compensation

  • $28.50 - $32.50 per hour, depending on years of experience
