Job description

LBX is looking to add a full-time Sales Development Trainer to the team! 

The Sales Development Trainer is responsible for all aspects of selling skills and product training for distribution and rental channels in North America.  This includes conducting schools at our Customer Experience Center (CEC), regional schools in the field, dealer-specific schools, and online modules as needed.

This position also works with our Learning and Development Department to create engaging and interactive materials to assist and coach salespeople on selling methods and skills like conducting sales calls, negotiation and closing, effective communication, deal structuring, financing, territory management, etc.  Another aspect is general product training on LBX’s various product lines and segments.   

Essential Functions:

40% - Budgeting, organizing, and conducting training sessions as well as travel, setup, and class time.  This encompasses setting quarterly schedules for CEC, regional schools, and dealer specific programs.  Collect feedback after each session to improve future trainings and measure satisfaction.

25% - Creating new material, updating existing product material, and maintaining training library.  This involves building a training agenda including e-learning modules and developing new training modules for Selling Skills development.

20% - Relationship building and industry research.  This consists of getting out and meeting our distribution by traveling with our field groups in both sales and customer support.  Getting an opportunity to hear first-hand what our dealers need in terms of training and coaching is a valuable part of this role.

15% - Other marketing duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a working knowledge of construction equipment, jobsite demands, equipment dealership structure, and dealer sales processes.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Proactive and collaborative team player with the ability to work with several internal teams to accomplish objectives and goals.
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to ask for help and feedback when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Communications field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in the construction equipment industry either at the dealer level or at another OEM in sales, management, or a training capacity.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including public speaking and online professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to interact and work well with others.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None, but leadership is required.

Travel Expectations:

Based out of Lexington, Kentucky this role can be expected to travel up to 25% of the time depending on the workload both domestically and internationally using different modes of transportation (auto, plane, etc.).

Working Conditions:

This position requires spending time in a seated position while working at a computer station for extended periods of time. In addition, periods of standing for long periods of time while training is necessary. Work also requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing, talking, climbing on equipment, and lifting (up to 50 pounds).
