Job Overview

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for pre-inspecting, pre-spotting, washing, drying and folding linens. The position is expected to maintain linens in a presentable and sanitary condition. The Laundry Attendant assists Housekeepers with other projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned by management.

Your day-to-day

 

  • Sort, load, unload, fold and press linen and other items.
  • Operate washing, drying and pressing equipment according to instruction, following all applicable safety standards.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with LodgeWorks standards as required by scheduling, which varies according to hotel needs.
  • Clean lint filters in dryers daily.
  • Follow proper OSHA/HAZCOM procedures.
  • Inspect linen and towels for stains, tears and other imperfections. Report or log deficiencies to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds.
  • Assist in removing dirty linen from vacant rooms.
  • Stock linen closets with clean linen and guest room amenities.
  • Receive and sort soiled linen into appropriate containers.
  • Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways, lobby and BOH areas when asked.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.  
  • Provide professional and courteous service.
  • Assist in any other task or duties as requested by management.
