Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position offering night shifts, requiring an active IL RN license and at least 1 year of ER experience.

Details
  • Rotating assignment across three offsite clinic locations in the Flossmoor, Calumet City, and Tinley Park areas
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Epic charting system experience required
Requirements
  • Active IL RN license in hand
  • Minimum of 1 year of ER experience required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience managing pediatric and adult emergency conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and psychiatric emergencies
  • Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and multisystem organ dysfunction management
  • Ability to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG and apply/manage splints for orthopedic trauma
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Nursys report required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a rotation of offsite clinic locations
  • Responsible for triage, emergency medication administration, and management of a wide range of medical and psychiatric emergencies
  • Complete facility orientation modules, which are non-billable and typically 2-3 hours in length
  • RTO limited to no more than 3 days, with no time off requests accepted during the first or last week of the contract
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Candidates with less than 2 years of experience will be considered
  • Former staff of University of Chicago Medicine or Ingalls Memorial Hospital locations must have a 7-month separation before returning as a traveler
