Lead Driver - Last Mile Delivery
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and experienced Lead Driver to oversee last mile delivery operations. The Lead Driver will play a dual role: completing daily deliveries while also supporting and guiding the driver team to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused service. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate delivery vehicles to complete last mile deliveries on time and in full.
  • Serve as a point of contact and role model for delivery drivers, providing training, coaching, and support as needed.
  • Assist dispatch and operations teams with routing, scheduling, and troubleshooting delivery issues.
  • Monitor compliance with safety policies, company standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report maintenance needs.
  • Escalate service or delivery issues, working collaboratively to resolve problems and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report driver performance metrics, providing feedback to management.
  • Support onboarding of new drivers and ensure adherence to operational best practices.
  • Promote a positive team culture by encouraging accountability, reliability, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Previous delivery driving experience preferred
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and walk up/down stairs throughout your shift
  • Operate and navigate a delivery van/box truck
  • Operate pallet jack
  • Working and driving in varying weather conditions
  • Able to pass a DOT physical exam
  • Complete Background Check, MVR Screening, and Drug test
