About the Position
This position reports to the Strategic Account Manager and Night Area Manager and is responsible for the team's book of business for the night shift. This entails bidding shipments, winning shipments, negotiating rates with carriers, and trace and functions for shipments on assigned teams within the brokerage division. This includes the following:
  • Negotiate competitive market rates with potential carriers.
  • Properly vet all tendered carriers in alignment with ITS best-in-class standards.
  • Cover/Recover broken-down shipments.
  • Cover spot market (Adhoc) shipments awarded during night shift.
  • Cover open contracted loads as assigned by SAM/Sr NAM.
  • Assist with high-level issue resolution escalated from Night Operations Representatives.
  • Track and trace current shipments in the ITS network.
  • Maintaining relationships with drivers and providing support as needed.
  • Producing timely and accurate communication to all customers within the assigned network.
  • Working efficiency and ensuring accuracy of all work.
  • Utilizing technology to properly track orders for on-time delivery.
  • Ensuring loads are on time and track and trace updates are sent per the required cadence.
  • Updating delivery windows in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to reflect actual changes in delivery times due to diversions or cancelations.
  • Escalating concerns, delays, loss failures, loss of revenue, and other issues with shipments to the appropriate chain of command.
  • Other duties as assigned.

about the requirements
  • A minimum of one year experience in the transportation industry is preferred but not required.
  • Proficient communication skills, including professional business writing, verbal communication, and documentation in TMS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • High-level "grit" with the ability to persevere and manage issues successfully in high-stress situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

7:30pm-5:30am - subject to change
*Required day-shift training for 6 weeks*
