The position

We are seeking a full-time laser cutting operator. Experience with running enclosed laser cutters is a plus, but we will train the right person who has good computer and math skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail. Duties will include running a laser cutter to complete jobs on time.
Summary

  • This is a full-time position for on-site work at our Dundee, MI location. Work hours are daytime, Monday-Friday.
  • Pay will depend on skills and experience.

  • Duties include day-to-day laser cutting, including:
     
    • Cutting parts from steel using enclosed laser cutter
  •  
    • Wear safety glasses, steel-toed boots and follow shop rules
  •  
    • Processing internal cut orders for manufacturing and engineering departments
  •  
    • Following Scheduling jobs  

    •  Can operate Forklift truck
  •  
    • Checking parts for quality and accuracy
  •  
    • Operating Slag Remover
  •  
    • Constant communication and coordination with engineering department
  •  
    • Monitoring stock levels for materials and consumables

    • Maintaining laser cutting machine
  •  
    • Organizing and cleaning the laser cutting area of the warehouse

  • Solid computer skills: can operate a Windows PC, comfortable learning new software
  • Strong math skills (shop math)
  • Able to use a tape measure in both metric and inches/feet
