About this role

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work in a correctional facility located in Jarratt , VA. Successful candidates will provide skilled nursing services to patients in state correctional facilities, under the direction of a professional registered nurse or medical doctor and provide a variety of related services to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.

Pay Rate: $36/hr

Location: Jarratt , VA

Shifts: Day 0700-1930 | Night 1900-0730

Paid Weekly - weekend shifts receive $2/hr more

Job Duties

  • Set up prescribed medications in accordance with patients' nursing care plans
  • Administer medications to patients orally, intra-muscularly or subcutaneously
  • Monitor effects of medication, records all medications given to patients'
  • Assists in rehabilitation programming, such as:
  • Development of social skills
  • Development of daily living skills
  • Reality orientation
  • Recreational skills, etc.
  • Record treatment given to patients on their medical record
  • Administer nursing procedures to patients in accordance with patients nursing care plans, such procedures include sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, tube feeding, oxygen therapy, range of motion therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, pre- and post-operative care etc.

Qualifications:

  • American Heart Association - BLS Certificate
  • Active LPN License in the state of Virginia
