Prepress Specialist (Print Production & Color Management) – New Jersey

Job Description
ABC Imaging is seeking an experienced Prepress Specialist (3–5 years of printing and graphics experience) to join our team in New Jersey. This role focuses on technical prepress production, file preparation, and print workflow execution, with an emphasis on file mechanics, accuracy, and production readiness rather than creative design.

You will work closely with a production team supporting high-end retail clients and complex large-format printing projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop advanced skills in print production, prepress workflows, and color-managed environments within a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process incoming jobs requiring art production, digital manipulation, and print output preparation
  • Perform preflight checks and file validation to ensure accurate reproduction and print readiness
  • Review and improve prepress and workflow standards in alignment with evolving industry practices
  • Maintain and calibrate digital printing equipment using RIP software and color calibration tools
  • Coordinate with production managers to ensure efficient scheduling and on-time project delivery
  • Proof all files for accuracy in color, size, content, and production specifications
  • Support graphics and production teams with complex or high-volume projects
  • Ensure consistent adherence to quality control and production standards
  • Assist in improving workflow efficiency and prepress processes
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in printing, graphics, or prepress production (required)
  • Strong background in color printing, UV printing, dye sublimation, and large/small format production
  • Proficiency with Caldera workflow software (required)
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and CorelDRAW
  • Strong experience in file preparation and correction, including preflighting, layering, trapping, knockouts, and overprints
  • Experience with large-format production projects, including vehicle wraps and bus graphics with variable layouts
  • Strong understanding of print production workflows and file management systems
  • Knowledge of color management principles, ICC profiling, and press calibration (preferred but not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
  • Self-driven with a willingness to learn new technologies and improve workflow processes
